Embark on an exhilarating trekking journey to experience the breathtaking beauty of Mount Rinjani, the second-highest volcano in Indonesia. This 3-day, 2-night trekking adventure starts from Senaru Village, taking you to the magnificent Crater Rim Senaru, the stunning Segara Anak Lake, and back to Senaru. Perfect for beginners or those with a good level of fitness, this trek promises unforgettable views, thrilling challenges, and a deep connection with nature.
Day 1: Senaru Village (601m) – Crater Rim Senaru (2,641m)
Your adventure begins bright and early! Wake up at 6:30 am and enjoy a hearty breakfast before heading to the Rinjani Trek Center Senaru to register for the trek.
At around 8:00 am, start your journey by trekking through a lush tropical forest rich in flora, birdlife, and a variety of butterflies. After a few hours of trekking, we’ll take our first break at Post 2 Montong SATAS Shelter (1,500m) for a refreshing cup of tea and some biscuits.
Continuing onwards for two hours, we’ll arrive at Post 3 Mondokan Lolak (2,000m) for a well-deserved lunch break. Rejuvenated and ready to go, we’ll ascend to the Senaru Crater Rim (2,641m), where you’ll be rewarded with one of the most spectacular views of the entire trek. Watch the sun set over Mount Agung in Bali, and catch a glimpse of smoke rising from the new volcano on the edge of the lake. We’ll set up camp here for the night and enjoy a warm dinner under the stars.
Day 2: Crater Rim Senaru (2,641m) – Segara Anak Lake and Hot Springs (2,000m) – Crater Rim Senaru (2,641m)
After breakfast with a breathtaking sunrise view, we’ll descend to the enchanting Segara Anak Lake. This part of the trek is steep and somewhat slippery, so take your time as we carefully make our way down.
Upon reaching the lake, we’ll rest and enjoy the scenic beauty around us. Take a swim in the cool lake waters or unwind in the natural hot springs, renowned for their therapeutic benefits and believed to soothe away any aches and pains from the trek. While you relax, our porters will prepare a delicious lunch for you by the lakeside.
After lunch, we’ll leave the lake and make our way back up to the Senaru Crater Rim (2,641m), a trek that will take approximately 2.5 hours. Once we reach the top, we’ll set up camp once again and settle in for another night under the stars.
Day 3: Crater Rim Senaru (2,641m) – Senaru Village (601m)
Enjoy your last breakfast on the mountain, accompanied by stunning views of the sunrise. After packing up, we’ll begin our descent back to Senaru Village, trekking through the rainforest. If we’re lucky, we might spot the rare and elusive black monkeys that inhabit this area.
The descent takes about 5 hours, with a stop for lunch along the way. We’ll arrive back in Senaru Village (601m) in the afternoon, where a car will be waiting to transfer you to your next destination, marking the end of an incredible adventure.
