If you’re looking to conquer Mount Rinjani and take in all its beauty in a short time, this is the perfect trekking package for you. Recommended for experienced travelers who love a fitness challenge, this 3-day and 2-night trek promises an unforgettable adventure.


Day 1: Sembalun Village (1,150m) – Crater Rim Sembalun (2,639m)

  • 6:00 AM: Wake up and enjoy breakfast before transferring to Sembalun Village, a scenic 40-50 minute drive.
  • Registration: Arrive at the Rinjani Information Center (RIC) to register for your trek.
  • Trek Begins: Start with a gentle walk through the savanna desert, with fairly flat trails leading to POS I (1,300m).
    • Break at POS I: Take a short break before continuing to POS II (1,500m).
    • Lunch: Enjoy Indonesian cuisine for lunch at POS II in the heart of the savanna.
  • Continue to POS III (1,800m): Trek for approximately one hour before resting for a few minutes.
  • Climb to Crater Rim: After climbing several hills, reach the Sembalun Crater Rim (2,639m) in about 3 hours. This base camp is known for its breathtaking views of the sea-lake and mountain ranges.
  • Evening at Camp: Set up camp and enjoy the idyllic sunset that surrounds you.

Day 2: Crater Rim Sembalun (2,639m) – Summit (3,726m) – Segara Anak Lake (2,000m) & Hot Spring – Senaru Crater Rim (2,641m)

  • 2:00 AM: Wake up for a light breakfast with hot drinks before beginning your ascent to the summit at 3:00 AM.
  • Summit Ascent: Start with a moderate climb followed by easier terrain. The final approach involves a steep climb over loose volcanic scree.
  • Sunrise Celebration: Reach the summit around 6:00 AM to witness a stunning sunrise, along with panoramic views of Lombok, Bali, Sumbawa, and Segara Anak Lake.
  • Descent to Crater Rim: After enjoying the views, descend back to the Sembalun Crater Rim in approximately 2 hours for breakfast.
  • Journey to the Lake: Continue your descent to Segara Anak Lake and the nearby hot springs, taking about 2.5 hours on a steep, somewhat slippery trail. Rest at the lakeside, where you can swim and enjoy the scenic views.
  • Lunch by the Lake: Your porters will prepare lunch for you at the lake.
  • Camp at Senaru Crater Rim: After lunch, climb to Senaru Crater Rim (2,641m), your campsite for the night. Enjoy spectacular views of Mount Agung in Bali and the smoke from the new volcano by the lake during sunset.

Day 3: Senaru Crater Rim (2,641m) – Senaru Village (601m)

  • Relaxing Morning: After breakfast and enjoying the beautiful sunrise, begin your trek down to Senaru Village through lush tropical forests.
  • Wildlife Sightings: If you’re lucky, you may encounter rare black monkeys along the way.
  • Descent: The trek takes approximately 5 hours, with breaks for rest and lunch along the route.
  • Return to Senaru: At the end of the trek, your vehicle will be ready to take you to your next destination.
